MULTI-UNIT PROPERTIES

Home Boss Inspection provides inspections for duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and other multi-unit residential properties.

Multi-unit properties require additional inspection time because each individual unit contains its own components and systems that must be evaluated and documented separately.

The base inspection price is typically determined by the total square footage of the entire property, age, foundation type, and overall property configuration.

An additional multi-unit fee per unit is added to the base inspection price.

For example, a duplex would be priced using the total square footage and foundation type of the entire building, plus the applicable multi-unit fee for each of the two units.

Unlike a single-family home, each unit may have separate systems and components that require individual inspection and documentation. Depending on the property, this may include:

• HVAC systems and thermostats
• Electrical panels and components
• Plumbing fixtures and water heaters
• Kitchens and installed appliances
• Bathrooms
• Interior rooms, doors and windows
• Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
• Attic or crawl space access
• Separate entrances, porches, balconies, or exterior components
• Additional photos and reporting for each unit

We also evaluate accessible shared or common components, such as the roof, exterior, foundation, attic, crawl space, utility areas, and other building systems as applicable.

Properties with numerous units, multiple buildings, mixed-use spaces, detached structures, or more complex configurations may require custom pricing based on the scope of the inspection.
